Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Comrade Adams Oshiomhole, on Thursday, got a rousing reception from the secretariat staff and hangers-on when he stormed the national headquarters of the party.
Oshiomhole, who arrived the secretariat at exactly 4.51pm, had hurried straight into the office of the National chairman, Abdullahi Adamu, acknowledging cheers from the staff, visitors and pockets of hangers-on.
The visit, which is his first time since he left office two years ago, brought live to the secretariat and the staff already traumatised over non-payment of their last months salary.
The shout of ‘Osho Baba, ‘Osho Baba, ‘the chairman with swagger’, from the staff had continued endlessly without anyone recognising Adamu’s presence, when he finally came out around 5.35pm.
However, despite the show of love from the countless number of staff that held him for some minutes, and others even struggled to catch glimpse of him, the former Edo State governor however dashed their hopes of getting any financial reward from him.
Guided into his steaming car by his orderly, Oshiomhole, who doubles as the deputy director general, APC presidential campaign council, only managed to acknowledge cheers from them that waited for minutes in anticipation of getting something from him.
Sources close to the ruling party’s national chairman said that his visit was not unconnected with finalising arrangements ahead of the expected release of the comprehensive list of presidential campaign council next week.
