The excitement and jubilation couldn’t be curtailed, as elated residents of Owan Federal Constituency, applauds Prof. Ihonvbere’s Bill on the Establishment of a Federal College of Nursing and Midwifery, Sobe in Owan West Local Government Area of Edo State that has now been gazetted, awaiting second reading in the House of Representatives.
The erudite Lawmaker, enthused that the driving force behind the sponsoring of the Bill, apart from the fact that the emergence of covid-19 pandemic seriously exposed the lack of adequate medical personnel in our health institutions, he is further encouraged to promote the Bill in order to help mitigate the high maternity and infant mortality rate in Edo State.
He maintained that he is specially elated at the Bill passing the first hurdle, now gazetted and awaiting second reading towards becoming a law as he foresees the establishment of the school bringing Medicare closer to the people in Owan Federal Constituency especially.
Recall that the Lawmaker has also raised a Bill for the establishment of a University of Sport in Afuze which is now at the senate awaiting concurrence as well as a Bill to establish Federal Medical Centre in Sabogidda Ora which has been laid before the House for its first hearing.
No doubt, the commitment, passion and plans of Prof. Ihonvbere in making OWAN second to NONE, is glaring to constituents.
