Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has extended heartfelt greetings to Muslims in the state and across Nigeria as they mark this year’s Eid-el-Fitr, signaling the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
In a statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Patrick Ebojele PhD, the governor praised the Muslim faithful for their dedication, discipline, and spiritual commitment demonstrated through weeks of fasting, prayers, and charitable acts. He emphasized that the core values of Ramadan which is sacrifice, compassion, tolerance, and selflessness remain vital ingredients for fostering peace and unity in society.
Okpebholo urged adherents to sustain these virtues beyond the festive period, calling on citizens to continue promoting harmony, mutual respect, and peaceful coexistence regardless of religious or ethnic differences.
Reaffirming his administration’s commitment to inclusive governance and economic development, the governor stressed that unity among residents is critical to achieving sustainable growth and progress in Edo State.
He also encouraged citizens to use the Eid celebration as an opportunity to pray for continued peace, stability, and development in both the state and the country.
“Eid-el-Fitr is a time of joy, reflection, and gratitude. Let us celebrate in peace, extend love to one another, and remain steadfast in our shared responsibility to build a better Edo State,” the governor said.
He concluded by wishing Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous celebration.
