The families and victims of those injured by hoodlums sponsored by the arrested chairman of Esan West, Collins Aigbogun have cried out for justice from the Inspector General of Police.
Speaking from their hospital bed in Illeh, Esan West Local Government Area, some of the injured persons lamented that it was by the grace of God that they are still alive after the People’s Democratic Party thugs pounced on them unprovoked.
According to the victims while narrating their different ordeals in the hands of the armed political hoodlums, they were attacked because of their affiliation to the All Progressive Congress, APC and they appealed to the security agencies to investigate and bring all the hoodlums that caused fatal injuries on innocent people and destroyed their properties .
In the words of a leader of APC in Imule Illeh Ekpoma ward 10, Chief Laurence Oiga, “on the 8th of September I saw Collins Aigbogun and his Personal Assistant with a group of politicians walking into my compound.
They destroyed my car and beat my wife and daughter because they did not see me. I immediately ran for my life when I saw them.
They used their cutlass to tear the bag of rice they saw inside the car which they also destroyed.
Also, Inegbedion Imoisili, who is a wood dealer, said he was in the shop that Monday morning taking inventory of the last work when some persons came to him, armed with different items and without any argument they started to beat him mercilessly with the intention to kill him.
According to him, ” I recognized one Sunday Aigbogun, known as Balogun, Abada and Owuro and Monday Abu armed with wood and other things I could not see because of the level of beating they gave to me.
“I am an APC man and the PDP wanted to kill me because of politics. They used a vehicle belonging to a chieftain of the PDP. It was assassination attempt.
I have a strong followership and they want to kill me because of politics.
The security agents should go deep with the investigation on the attempt to kill me,” he added.
The intimidation from the Local Government Chairman , Collins Aigbogun and his political thugs, began when some APC members finished a meeting at Imule Ileh.
They attacked the APC members and that led to further intimidation from the opposition political party and four days after some of those injured were still in the hospital. In their various appeals they want the Inspector General of Police to investigate this evil action of these persons to find out why they have taken up arms against the APC members . The other day, some persons were beaten on the streets of Ekpoma because they were wearing APC caps.
A Youth, Ogbeide Omoukama revealed that ” after our APC meeting we saw a group of persons led by the chairman and they attacked me with a big bottle on my head. I had to run for my life,” Mrs. Dorothy Arebun also disclosed how she was attacked after they held an APC meeting . “It was because we held a meeting here that was why they came to attack us and destroyed my store.
I was not having any issues with anybody. With what has happened I want the government to come and rescue me and my family by making them write and undertaken.
The mother of a youth who was beaten for wearing APC cap, by the PDP hoodlums Mrs. Mary Atita. appealed to the government to help her because it is not by force they will vote for the PDP.
In his words, the victim, Endurance Atita lamented that he was attacked by the Local Government Chairman and his boys because of the APC cap he was wearing and he narrowly escaped being killed,
