With the Edo State governorship election just weeks away, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) is grappling with internal turmoil as reports emerge that Asue Ighodalo, the party’s governorship candidate, and the outgoing governor Godwin Obaseki has continued to engage in serious arguments which led to Asue calling Obaseki “Bad Head”. Our informant said this did not go down well with Obaseki who worked he godson out of his office.
According to sources close to Obaseki, Asue told him (Obaseki), he is the reason he will lose because everywhere he goes, the people keep pointing fingers on Obaseki, calling him a serial betrayal, casting doubt on the party’s chances of success in the September 21, 2024 election.
The r has sent shockwaves through the PDP camp, which is already under immense pressure due to Obaseki’s as governor.
According to Asue, “See how Oshiomhole has taken over everywhere in Benin. The same way he campaigned for Godwin in 2016
“But everywhere I go, people keep telling me they cannot work for me because of Obaseki and I have spent so much on this campaign
“Obaseki is such a bad head, I’m confused and don’t know what to do
“I’ll just continue doing my best and hope that magic happens because I’m giving up on daily basis”, Asue confided to a close associate
