There’s massive jubilation in Ekpoma, renowned as the economic hub of Edo Central Senatorial District, as heavy-duty construction equipment arrives to immediately kickstart accelerated work on the dilapidated sections of federal highways in Edo state.
The contractors informed elated community leaders that work will commence next week, starting from Ekpoma, reliable sources revealed.
In addition, Senator Monday Okpebholo, the governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the upcoming September 21st election, has lauded President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for swiftly mobilizing contractors handling the Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi-Okpella-Okene-Lokoja road rehabilitation.
Senator Okpebholo, while praising the president’s prompt action in fully mobilizing the contractors to the site and initiating the rehabilitation work effectively, stated, “President Bola Tinubu’s actions have demonstrated his responsiveness and commitment to alleviating the suffering of our people in his renewed hope administration.”
“We expressed concern about the state of the roads between Benin-Ekpoma-Auchi-Okpella as leaders, and as such, we reached out to the federal government, including Distinguished Senator Adams Oshiomhole and the Minister of Works, His Excellency, David Umahi, who promptly swung into action.
“We raised the alarm about the deplorable state of the roads ahead of the rainy season, and we received this fantastic response from our president. It clearly demonstrates Mr. President’s sensitivity to our plight, as the contractors are already on-site to commence work. I can assure you that they have been tasked with delivering the highest standard and timely completion of the projects.
“I am in the governorship race because I want to serve the people of Edo state. I promise that, by the Grace of God, when elected, I shall lead a government based on the aspirations of the people. I will be a listening governor, attending to the needs of the people. I am here to serve, and I will do my utmost to elevate the state to greater heights under the renewed hope administration of President Bola Tinubu,” he affirmed.
