Edo: Dennis Idahosa congratulates Billy Osawaru on election victory

Hon. Dennis Idahosa, the member representing Ovia Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, has congratulated Billy Osawaru for winning the contest to emerge the representative of Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency in the lower chamber.

His message came after Osawaru’s victory was further affirmed with the issuance of INEC’s Certificate of Return which he received earlier today at the state headquarters of the electoral body.

Hon. Idahosa described his victory as hard-fought and well-deserved, adding that the goodwill and popular support he enjoys proved decisive in the protection of the mandate against undemocratic forces bent on imposing their will on the people through violence and subterfuge.

He said, “I am glad to welcome Hon. Billy Osawaru to the House of Representatives where I trust that he will put his noted brilliance, compassion, and integrity on show and towards the development of Orhionmwon/Uhunmwonde Federal Constituency.”

“His victory is a win for democracy in Edo State and a lesson to those who seek to pervert our electoral process with violence and other undemocratic tactics that leadership in a democracy can only be acquired through the consent of the majority, and Edo people are ready, now more than ever, to confront these desperate actors in defence of their mandate.”
