Nigeria Bar Association, Benin (Lion Bar), congratulates Mr. Festus Alenkhe on emergence as Chairman Nigeria Union Of Journalist (NUJ), Edo State Chapter.
Alenkhe, a crime journalist with the state-owned Edo Broadcasting Service (EBS), defeated the immediate past Secretary of the union, Titus Akhigbe.
In a statement signed by the Chairman, Pius Owioh, he said;
“The Nigerian Bar Association, Benin Branch, (the Lion Bar) congratulates Comrade Festus Alenkhe on his victory/emergence upon an election today as the Chairman of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, Edo State Chapter.”
“As partners in progress and stakeholders in the advancement and strengthening of democracy, we have always seen the NUJ as our brother and identified with each other in programmes and activities hence invitation was extended to us to be observers/monitor in the election which was adjudged peaceful, transparent and devoid of rancour. We are hopeful that Mr. Chairman, judging from his anticidence and experience will move the Edo NUJ to an enviable height.”
