…”Edo students should get ready to benefit massively under my watch,” says Okpebholo
The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State for the September 21st election, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, has assured students in Edo State to prepare to benefit massively from the student loans signed into law by President Bola Tinubu.
Senator Okpebholo stated that when voted into office, he would establish methodologies to facilitate easy access to the loans for students in Edo State and alleviate any financial burdens they may encounter.
In a statement released to journalists in Benin City by his Directorate of Media and Publicity, the Senator expressed his sincere gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his decisive action in signing the new Student Loan Bill into law, stating, “This legislation marks a significant milestone in our journey towards ensuring equitable access to higher education for all Nigerian students and Edo students in particular.
“In Edo State, the government hasn’t recognized the need for bursaries or provided any support for our students, but President Bola Tinubu has decided to address this issue by removing the financial barriers that often hinder talented individuals from pursuing their educational goals.
“For disadvantaged students, this law has restored hope for countless aspiring students in the 18 local government areas of Edo State and Nigeria in general. It is a testament to President Tinubu’s commitment to creating a society where merit, not financial circumstances, determines one’s access to education.
“This initiative will transform lives and drive national development. It will empower students to pursue their educational aspirations with confidence, knowing that financial support is readily available. By ensuring that no talent goes untapped, we are not only investing in the future of individual students but also in the prosperity of our nation as a whole.
“I commend President Tinubu for his leadership and vision in championing this crucial initiative, and I am confident that together, we will build a brighter future for all Nigerians through accessible and quality higher education,” he concluded.
