The Executive Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Enabulele says the Sen. Monday Okpebholo led administration has, within a short period, made remarkable strides in the development of sports in the state.
The chairman who described the governor as a “true game changer” in sports development said history will remember him should he continue with the same zeal.
According to a statement by his Media Officer, Mr. Edoko Wilson Edoko, Enabulele, made this declaration during a routine visit to various sports training venues at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City.
The chairman who expressed satisfaction with the camping activities in preparation for the upcoming 22nd National Sports Festival in Abeokuta noted that the governor’s administration has prioritized sport since he assumed office.
Enabulele expressed confidence in both the athletes and coaches, stating, “They possess the winning spirit. We are not just participating, we are determined to emerge as champions at the festival.
“The essence of this visit is to assess the performance of Team Edo athletes, boost their morale, and encourage them to stay focused and committed to training.
“Our camping program is designed to prepare our athletes thoroughly for the festival, which is scheduled to hold in Abeokuta, Ogun State, from May 16 to 30, 2025.
“Indeed, we are immensely grateful to our exceptional Governor, His Excellency, Senator Monday Okpebholo, for redefining sports development in Nigeria. I call him the real game changer for his unwavering support,” Enabulele emphasized.
He further noted that the governor has mandated the commission to identify and nurture raw talents from across the 18 local government areas of the state
According to him, “We have already commenced this critical task. On behalf of the commission, we deeply appreciate the continuous support of our sports-loving governor.”
