Hon. Dr. Edwin Omoregie has expressed appreciation following his appointment as the South-South Zonal Representative of the Darts Federation of Nigeria, pledging to work towards transforming the sport in the region.
In a statement, Omoregie described the appointment as a call to serve, adding that his focus would be on uplifting and promoting darts across the South-South.
He commended the leadership of the Darts Federation of Nigeria at the national level for the confidence reposed in him, while also extending gratitude to the Edo State Darts Association Executives and the Edo State Sports Commission for their support.
Omoregie specifically thanked the Chairman of the Edo State Sports Commission, Hon. Amadin Enabulele, the Director of Sports, Mr. Aghahowa Osayomore, and the Zonal Coordinator of the National Sports Commission, Mr. Peter Njokwu, for their encouragement and commitment to grassroots sports development.
He also acknowledged Chief Roland Okungbowa, Vice Chairman of the Edo State Darts Section, and the Head Coach, Mrs. Bawo Obire, for their guidance, as well as Mr. Amin Aimuaemmosa and Hon. Friday Aghedo, Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, for their continued support.
Omoregie assured stakeholders that the South-South zone would witness a new chapter in darts, promising to serve with humility, dedication, and a vision to set higher standards of excellence.
He called on coaches and stakeholders across the zone to unite in advancing the sport, noting that collective efforts would be key to success.
The new Zonal Representative also congratulated his fellow representatives elected alongside him, urging unsuccessful aspirants to remain involved in developing darts, stressing that “together, we win.”
