Operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the early hours of Sunday, October 26, raided Proxy Night Club located at 7 Akin Adesola Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, where a full-blown drug party was reportedly in progress.
According to NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, over 100 suspects were arrested during the operation, including the club owner Mike Eze Nwalie Nwogu, popularly known as Pretty Mike, who is currently in custody for screening.
The agency disclosed that several cartons of illicit substances, including Loud and laughing gas, were recovered from the club’s premises and its store.
Babafemi added that the raid was based on credible intelligence and that NDLEA operatives had been embedded in the party from around 11 p.m. on Saturday before disrupting the event at about 3 a.m. on Sunday, in line with standard operating procedures.
