The wife of the Deputy Governor of Edo State, Her Excellency, Amb. Mrs. Osaretin Idahosa, has urged Nigerians to recommit themselves to unity, peace, and hard work as the nation marks its 65th Independence anniversary.
In a goodwill message to Nigerians and the people of Edo State, Mrs. Idahosa described Independence Day as a reminder of the struggles and sacrifices of Nigeria’s founding fathers, as well as the opportunities that lie ahead for growth and development.
“Our independence reminds us not only of the struggles and sacrifices of our founding fathers but also of the boundless opportunities we must continue to harness for the growth and development of our dear nation,” she said.
She emphasized that Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage, abundant resources, and resilient spirit remain pillars of hope that should inspire citizens to work together for a stronger country.
Calling on Edo people to remain steadfast in their commitment to peace, justice, and sustainable development, the deputy governor’s wife said unity, tolerance, and mutual respect are essential for building a Nigeria of shared prosperity.
“Edo State stands as a beacon of hope and prosperity, and with collective efforts, we will continue to drive sustainable development, empower our youths, and strengthen the values of equity and justice,” she added.
She extended warm wishes to Edo people and all Nigerians, praying for God’s blessings on both the state and the country.
