The Youth Leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Edo State, Comrade Tony Kabaka Adun, has expressed appreciation to Governor Monday Okpebholo for approving compensation for his hotel, which was demolished during the tenure of Governor Godwin Obaseki.
In a letter addressed to the Governor, Kabaka described the demolition of his property as an act of political persecution, alleging that it was carried out not for legal reasons but as retaliation for his dissent and insistence on good governance and accountability.
He stated that the demolition represented not only the destruction of a business venture but also an attempt to intimidate those who opposed the former government.
Kabaka, however, said the Governor’s recent approval of compensation had gone beyond material restoration, noting that it sent “a resounding message that Edo State will not be governed by vendetta, but by justice, fairness, and reconciliation.”
According to him, the decision had rekindled public confidence in government and reassured citizens that leadership could be guided by integrity and compassion.
He also pledged his loyalty and support to the Okpebholo administration, expressing readiness to contribute to the success of its development agenda.
