A video showing the moment a House of Representatives member, Alex Mascot Ikwechegh slapped and verbally abused an Uber driver for refusing to enter his residence in Maitama, Abuja, to deliver a package has surfaced on social media.
According to the driver who filmed the ordeal, the Honourable representing the Aba North & South Federal Constituency became angered after he (the Uber driver) requested that the lawmaker come outside to receive his delivery
A visibly angry Ikwechegh is seen verbally berating and cursing the driver for asking him to leave his convenience to receive his items.
As the altercation intensified between the duo, the lawmaker was filmed slapping the driver multiple times, insisting the request was disrespectful given his social status.
At one point, the lawmaker threatened the driving, saying he could make him “disappear” without facing any consequences.
The video has sparked widespread outrage across social media, as many calls on the authority to apprehend the lawmaker for threatening to make the Uber driver ‘disappear.’
