Umoru Ozigi has officially assumed his position as the new Commissioner of Police for Edo State.
The development was confirmed in a statement released on Saturday, October 19, by the Edo State Police Command through its Police Public Relations Officer, Joel Yamu.
Infopowerng understands that the new Commissioner, an indigene of Adavi Local Government Area in Kogi State, holds a degree in Business Administration from Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) Zaria.
He joined the Nigeria Police Force in 1992 as a Cadet Assistant Superintendent of Police, having received his training at the esteemed Nigeria Police Academy in Wudil, Kano.
Over the past three decades, he has held various positions within the Force, most recently serving as the Commissioner of Police and Force Provost Marshal at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The command emphasized that the new Commissioner is aware of the security concerns of the Edo State populace and is appealing for public cooperation to combat all forms of crime and criminal activity within the state.
