In a proactive move towards enhancing cooperation and fostering a sustainable partnership, the President and Executive Committee Members of the Benin Recreation Club (BRC) recently paid a courtesy visit to the Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Edo State Command, Gbenga Agun Joseph, at his office in Benin City.
During the visit, Mr. Osayi Courage Osamuyi, the President of BRC, highlighted the primary objective of the courtesy call, emphasizing the club’s commitment to establishing a lasting partnership with the NSCDC Command. Mr. Osayi mentioned that the club boasts a top-notch recreation and sporting facility that can contribute to enhancing the fitness and readiness of the officers to effectively carry out their duties.
He encouraged the State Commandant to frequent the club with his family and friends to enjoy the diverse range of facilities available, including swimming, football, lawn tennis, table tennis, indoor games, and snooker, among others. As a gesture of goodwill and appreciation, the BRC President presented an honorary membership status to the NSCDC boss.
In response, the State Commandant, Gbenga Agun Joseph, expressed his gratitude for the visit and welcomed the BRC team warmly. He took the opportunity to shed light on the core responsibilities of the NSCDC, emphasizing the organization’s mandate to safeguard the lives and properties of citizens. He also highlighted the collaborative efforts with other security agencies in the state to combat vandalism, reduce crime rates, and address social vices effectively.
Agun reiterated the NSCDC’s unwavering commitment to protecting the nation’s valuable assets within the state, underscoring the agency’s dedication to ensuring the security and well-being of the community. The meeting concluded on a positive note, setting the stage for a promising partnership between the Benin Recreation Club and the Edo NSCDC Command.
