Fire Incident: Edo Council Chairman Consoles Victim, Pledges Support [PHOTOS]

The Executive Chairman of Oredo Government Council, Dr. Tom Obaseki has consoled 41-year-old Victor Ajefemue a School Teacher and also a Disc Jockey, professionally known as DJ Eligible over a fire incident that razed his apartment in Benin City.

The fire incident was said to have occurred at about 2 pm on Thursday when the victim completely lost his valuables including certificate documents, laptops, Mixer, disc controller, and other items worth millions after a suspected defective spark from an electrical high voltage through a wall socket while he and his family had gone to work.

The incident happened at Mike Bello Street, off Ozolua, Ekewuan road axis of the Oredo Government
Council.

An eyewitness who is also the landlady, Madam Stella Osagie, who gave an account of the fire circumstances said it raged incessantly for upwards of an hour before help from the fire service department could salvage the further spread.

Hope for the victim was, however, restored when the Executive Chairman of Oredo Council, Dr Tom Obaseki, and his entourage paid a surprise conciliatory visit where he observed relics of property of the Victim on black fumes burnt beyond recognition.

Speaking shortly after inspecting the fire outbreak that rendered him and his family, homeless, on Friday, Dr. Obaseki in conciliatory remarks assured of the Council’s support

The Council Chairman said it was only God who preserved them for not being a victim of the fire perdition.

Meanwhile, the victim, Victor Ajefemue who lamented the incident said he was at work when he got a call from his neighbor that his house was on fire.

Ajemefue hailed the swift response of the Council Chairman as well as his efforts and commitment towards a better society, just as he appealed for concerted actions from Nigerians to complement the steps taken by Dr. Tom Obaseki to rescue him from his devastated position.

Other dignitaries in the chairman’s entourage include the Secretary of the Council, Dr. Wellington Osadolor, and HODs of various departments accompanied the chairman to the conciliatory place.
