The chairmen of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the eighteen local government areas of Edo State have commended the leader of the party in the state, Sen. Adams Oshiomhole and declared their support for him to lead the party to victory in the September 2024 governorship election.
They also congratulated Oshiomhole on his election as the senator representing Edo North Senatorial District.
A communiqué issued at the end of their meeting with Oshiomhole from the office of the Chairman of Chairmen and signed by Hon Aghedo Oscar and Ojo-Maliki F. A. Chairman of chairmen and Secretary said their meeting with Oshiomhole also discussed the issue of funding for the party in the local government areas.
Part of the communiqué read:
“On the issue of the 2024 Gubernatorial election, the Distinguished Senator and Leader of the Party in the state reiterated the need for all party faithful to work together to ensure APC wins the forthcoming Governorship election. He said the processes to this end shall be encompassing and acceptable to all.
“The Chairmen recommitted themselves to the Leadership of Distinguished Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole and his efforts to ensure victory for the party in the next Gubernatorial election.
“The Chairmen Congratulated His Excellency, Distinguished Senator Adams Aliyu Oshiomhole on his victory at the polls and subsequent victory at the Tribunal.
“It was agreed that the issue of funding of LGAs is paramount and the Distinguished Senator and Leader of the Party promised to expedite action on the matter.
“Also discussed was the issue of Appointments and Empowerment and it was posited that individuals to be appointed henceforth will pass through the party structures based on performances just as the various empowerment programs have passed through the party structures.”
