Immediately after Taiwo Akerele, the Omokafe of Somorika and the Oriasha 1 of Ugboshi Kingdom, the former Chief of Staff to Edo State Government wrote that very incisive piece denouncing Mr Obaseki’s failure to commission any project in Akoko-Edo after 7 years in office, everybody knew that the state government was going to respond, and indeed Mr Crusoe Osagie had given an indication that he will reply. However, little did we know that Crusoe will exhibit this high level of cowardice by not signing the piece ably written by him.
Alas, but not surprisingly, he found the usual scapegoat, physically and technically jobless and political jobber, Mr Peter Ologun, who is well known for collecting the sum of fifty thousand Naira (N50,000.00) only to sign any document for circulation. This is a man who has held the exalted position of Care-taker Council chairman in Akoko-Edo Local Government and who squandered the opportunity to make a mark like the highly respected Chief J.A Emasealu, Hon Anslem Agbabi and others but he chose to pander to the whim and caprices of his self-appointed godfathers by spending his last savings to bribe the House of Assembly to extend his illegal tenure in office. Since then, Mr Ologun has not recovered politically.
It is shocking that a true son of the soil, Mr Akerele, despite all odds, courageously challenged the governor for not developing our local government but hanging on straws to manipulate the people continuously even when he has less than 11 months to the end of tenure, then a betraying man who does not know his worth will agree to sign an already prepared rejoinder – Is there no more dignity amongst men? Hunger, why has thou doest this? This is not the Akoko-Edo people we grew up to know.
This is the same Ologun who prays to God on the mountain on a daily basis for miracle or manna to fall down from heaven on him and his family, is this the so-called manna you have been waiting for? You have always lamented to whoever cares to listen that Mr. Akerele didn’t empower you when he was Chief of Staff, but that was more than 4 years ago? Is that how childish and ‘ungrown’ you are that you carry grudges against a man old enough to be your younger brother and yet you expect God to answer your fervent prayers? Where is forgiveness in the life of a Christian that you claim to be? Can you see why you are where you are?
It is shocking that with all your loyalty and slavery to your newfound godfathers in government house after the exit of Akerele, you still have not been empowered by now? It shows something fundamental is wrong with your kind of politics? Why not change tactics and alliance?
Mr Ologun, is Mr Akerele responsible for your inability to clinch the position of a position as lowly as Vice Chairman to the Council ? Why were you uncourteously and unceremoniously substituted? It’s a well known fact that you lobbied to be a supervisory councillor, yet you were ignored by your godfathers, it obvious that you are ‘a anywhere belle face’ politician who has no content or value to add. It is obvious that your self and Crusoe are birds of the same feather: Crusoe is the hand while you agreed to be the voice? Where is your shame?
Mr Ologun, its sad that after close to 20 years in active politics you are still be used to sign documents that didn’t originate from you? If you are not ashamed of yourself we are ashamed on your behalf sir.
Mr Akerele called out the governor for debate and not you, his legacies while in government speaks volume compared to your kobo-kobo ways of life. Your willingness to sign that piece written by Mr Osagie exemplifies a typical envious spirit of a jealous fellow who is ready to put down any shred of dignity to take a pound of flesh against his so called ‘enemy’
So suddenly Taiwo Akerele is now your arch enemy? CCTV footage in Government House shows how you use to frequent his office to genuflect and ask for favours, but today you are willing to collect 12 Shekels of silver to bring him down. Between the two of you who will history be kind to? The man asking for development and accountability or you that is saying to hell to development?
Since Crusoe carefully and intelligently avoided lawsuit knowing well the libelous content of his write up, it’s a shame that you will now be led to the Golgotha by a team of lawyers to defend what you allegedly wrote. I wish you can take a lesson from Ms Rita Ebuwa, Mr Albert Obaze and others who have taken this route before. Mr Obaseki and the Edo State Government are very notorious for abandoning those who have court cases. A word is enough for the wise! You have a long way to go.
In concluding this piece, Akoko-Edo people would like to know exactly what you find offensive in Mr Akerele’s request with respect to asking for report card from the Edo State Government concerning the development of our area? Akoko-Edo people would like to hear more from you. But in the meantime, enjoy your time in and out of the courts.
