A woman named Joy Oyaghiri-Fagbemi, has been praised by her community for fixing their bad transformer and also paying for a one month worth of electricity bill.
The woman who hails from Omokwa Community in Abua/Odual LGA, Rivers State, said her people reached reached out to her that they needed light as they had been cut off the grid for about a year
When she got there, she also discovered that the transformer was bad, so she decided to fix it.
“I paid for the transformer to be fixed, which wasn’t cheap. I paid for reconnection back to the Local government grid, and paid for one month worth of electricity bills. All this from my pocket.
The joy I saw in the faces of men, women and youths of my community, the text messages of gratitude, was truly humbling”
