Obi Cubana, a Nigerian socialite, has spoken out over the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency’s recent invitation (NDLEA).
On Thursday, the NDLEA questioned the entrepreneur, whose actual name is Obi Iyiegbu, over claims that he was involved in an illegal narcotics business.
The 46-year-old claimed drug-related business is something he strongly opposes in an interview with media personality Daddy Freeze.
He also revealed that he had made a vow to God not to engage in any drug-related business.
Obi Cubana admitted that he had “never felt so low in life” as he did when he was recently invited by the NDLEA.
The celebrity also contrasted the NDLEA invitation to the four-day detention he received from the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) last year for alleged money laundering and tax fraud.
“People must confront some challenges in life. I’m going through one right now, and it’s the most painful of them all… you see, I was detained for four days and three nights, but I didn’t mind because I knew the agency would do a thorough investigation and if I was cleared, I’d be released; there was no witch-hunting. “However, when it comes to drugs, I have never felt so low,” he remarked.
“It’s revolting to me, and I’ve made a vow to my God, my children, and my unborn generation that I’ll never support, invest in, or be a part of it (drugs)…. It’s something that could happen to my kids. As a result, no rational person will support it. Even the prospect of that invitation makes me shiver…”
Obi Cubana said that he was invited by the NDLEA after money was allegedly transferred into his account by someone connected to a drug-related firm.
