A suspect with a physical disability has been arrested in connection to the crime of Advanced Fee Fraud ( popularly known as 419). The suspect, a cripple, was identified as Gbenga Ajibola. Gbenga was arrested by the FCT Police Command and he confessed to the crime while sharing details during an interview with AIT.
Experts have often cautioned people concerning the antics of fraudsters and how to protect themselves. Some experts have emphasised that fraudsters often approach their victims in unsuspicious ways or exploit the sympathy of unsuspecting victims. AIT reports that Gbenga was arrested for defrauding his unsuspecting victims through 419.
Speaking during an interview, Gbenga said, “I know what I did was wrong, and that is why I told my child to inform the woman I defrauded that I had died. I asked my child to inform my victim that the power of the woman she said I should kill has killed me. I used the money to pay my child’s school fees.”
