The Edo State election petitions tribunal has resumed sitting, and the question on everyone’s mind is: what’s next for the PDP and their candidate, Asue Ighodalo? Will they continue to display their signature courtroom drama, or will they finally focus on resolving the issues at hand?
It’s no secret that the PDP has a history of using stalling tactics in court.
Yesterday’s “hidden witness list” debacle is just the latest example. They’ve been trying to dump unverified documents on the court, only to be stopped in their tracks. These performative acts are nothing new, but they’re certainly getting old.
So, what’s on the menu for today? Will the PDP unveil a fresh act to dazzle the tribunal, or will it be another round of déjà vu?
Perhaps they’ll claim their evidence was eaten by a dog or that traffic prevented their witnesses from showing up.
One thing’s for sure: the PDP appears more committed to burning time than resolving issues.
As the tribunal resumes, one can’t help but wonder: what’s the endgame for the PDP? Are they genuinely seeking justice, or is this just an elaborate courtroom drama? The people of Edo State deserve answers, not theatrics.
In the words of philosopher Jean-Paul Sartre, “man is condemned to be free; because once thrown into the world, he is forced to choose.”
The PDP must choose between continuing their courtroom antics or focusing on the real issues at hand.
The people of Edo State are watching, and the world is waiting.
