Former governor of Anambra State, Willie Obiano, has been seen in a viral video clubbing. The video however generated different reactions across Nigerian social media.
A social media user, Fred Chukwuelobe, felt that Obiano deserved his rest after being a governor for eight years but that he should do it in a respectable manner.
Chukwuelobe said, “He should be having some rest, not doubt, but not by behaving like a child: drinking, dancing and looking very unserious.
“We expect someone who ruled a state like Anambra to do better: give talks, write books, attend events to share his experience, rest in a respectable and responsible way.”
A Facebook user, Chukwuneta Oby, said, “Ex-governor Willie Obiano and wife in a cruise ship…Nigeria gbaazikwa oku! EFCC…what’s up with this case file?”
Another Facebook user, Ikechukwu Okafor, reshared the video and said, “See enjoyment! Former Anambra governor, Willie Obiano partying and enjoying.” A tweep, Onyedikachukwu, simply said, “Former Anambra governor, Willie Obiano having fun of his life.”
Infopowerng had earlier reported that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) released the immediate former governor of Anambra State from its custody almost a week after he was arrested at Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.
Obiano according to a reliable source was released after meeting the administrative bail conditions earlier granted him by the anti-graft agency.
One of the bail conditions was for him to produce to sureties, who must be directors on grade level 17 in the Federal Civil service.
Another condition was for him to produce two senior citizens, who must be landlords in Maitama, Asokoro or Wuse district of Abuja.
The former governor, who had been on EFCC’s watchlist, was among other things, accused of misappropriating public funds totalling about N42billion.
