The NBA Benin Branch Exco known as the Lion Exco, led by its Chairman-Pius Idemudia Oiwoh AICMC, on Tuesday the 16th of February,2021 paid a Condolence visit to My Lord, the Honourable, the Chief Judge of Edo State, Hon. Justice Esther Amenaghawon Edigin FICMC, and other Judges of the Edo State Judiciary to commiserate with My Lords over the sudden demise of Hon Justice Morrison Ighodalo of the Edo State Judiciary whose sad demise occured on Monday the 15th of February, 2021.
The Lion Bar Exco which was fully represented on the Visit met a Full Compliment of the Judges of Edo State Judiciary ,as My Lords were in a crucial meeting owing to the demise of Justice Morrison Ighodalo at the time of the visit.
The Chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association Benin Branch,the Lion Bar ,Pius Oiwoh AICMC extolled the sterling qualities of the departed Judge who was renowned as a quintessential Jurist ,who had the demeanour worthy of commendation as he would address a Young Lawyer in the same manner he would address a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, a unique characteristic that stood him out in his scandal free and eventful career.The Chief Judge of Edo State ,My Lord , the Honourable Justice Esther Amenaghawon Edigin FICMC thanked the NBA Benin Branch Exco for the prompt visit and assurances to be a part of the burial events. His Lordship indicated that the Bar will be apprised of the arrangements for the obsequies
The Lion Bar Chairman with the Lion Bar Exco which also comprised the NBA Benin Branch Secretary ,Andrew Lawani Esq., the Treasurer -Mrs. Stella Agoha ,the Legal Adviser -Dr. S.O. Daudu, the Social Secretary-Chris Otasowie Esq., the Financial Secretary-Mrs Joyce Obasuyi ,the Welfare Secretary,,Charles Igiebor , -the Provost -Terry Uwadiae Esq., Dr. S. O. Daudu, Legal Adviser, the former Vice Chairman of the NBA Benin Branch- Mrs. Benedicta Okoduwa and other Leaders of the Benin Bar ,were all in a solemn mood all through the visits .
The Exco Members then proceeded to the residence of My Lord, Late Hon Justice Morrison Ighodalo where the Governor of Edo State ,Governor Godwin Obaseki ,the Deputy Governor, Comrade Phillip Shaiubu ,with other top Government functionaries joined My Lord ,Hon. Justice Tinuade Akomolafe -Wilson JCA (As He Then Was ), My Lords ,Judges of the Edo State Judiciary, G.C. Igbokwe SAN, Peter Osewenkhae Esq., and the NBA Benin Branch Exco in paying their last respect to the departed eminent Jurist who has imprinted his foot prints in the sands of time. The dignatories later signed the condolence register in honour of My Lord,Late Honourable Justice Morrison Ighodalo.
