Member representing Ovia Federal Constituency at the National Assembly, Hon Dennis Idahosa has called on Muslims to offer special prayers for greater peace, unity and progress of Nigeria as they join their counterparts across the world to celebrate Eid El Maulud, which is the birth of Prophet Mohammed.
Idahosa, in a statement signed by his Media aide, Osaro Aghedo, enjoined Muslims to follow the “perfect leadership” of the Holy Prophet by promoting peaceful existence.
While admonishing everyone to shun violence as witness across the country recently, Idahosa asked that our differences be put aside while working towards building a safer and better Nigeria.
He stated that the celebration of the birth of the Prophet should renew our faith and bond of unity irrespective of our diversity.
“On the occasion of the commemoration of the birth of the holy Prophet, it is important to reflect on his teachings and uphold his legacies of unity, integrity, peaceful coexistence and love for one another, which are indispensable in our desire for meaningful development,” he stated.
The Chairman, House Committee on Legislative Compliance also urged Muslim to assimilate the virtues of honesty, selflessness, charity, tolerance, justice and fairness which Prophet Mohammed preached.
He noted thilat such will go a long way to engender national development.
“I wish all our Muslim brothers and sisters in Nigeria and Ovia federal constituency in particular a happy Eid-el-Maulud”, he said.
